LILY LAVORATO
<--- back
Alongside my art practice I have a background in artist support, producing and community engagement with a focus on accessibility for chronically ill/disabled artists and audiences. I developed these skills between 2019-2022 in roles at Transform, an international theatre festival based in Leeds and Yorkshire Sculpture International, a partnership project between Leeds Art Gallery, Henry Moore Institute, The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park, as well as through my ongoing commitment to research.
In 2023, I transitioned to becoming fully freelance and now draw on this knowledge of the creative industries to support artists to apply for funding, deliver projects and advocate for their own needs. This includes:
- Applying for funding from Arts Council England (including Developing Your Creative Practice and National Lottery Project Grants) and from Creative Scotland (including Open Fund for Individuals and Organisations)
- Applying to Access to Work
- Being a support worker through Access to Work
- Writing and implementing access riders
- Producing projects, exhibitions and theatre shows
